As an entrepreneur in Anglophone Cameroon, you face numerous challenges on a daily basis. You will get up in the morning ready to work just to find that there is no electricity(at times a day or two), making it difficult to even get my appliances ready for work. And when the electricity does come on, it is often unstable. The internet connection is slow and unreliable, regardless of whether you use MTN, Camtel or Orange as the service provider.
Even when I manage to overcome these obstacles, I am faced with ghost towns and other disruptions that make it difficult to maintain a smooth business environment. As if these challenges are not enough, the graduates from our country’s higher institutions are not helping at all; they often lack the skills needed to compete in the global market. Outsourcing talent or jobs is difficult due to the rigid and outdated payment system. You can’t use PayPal, Googlepay etc easily for all transactions and those available too costly.
Despite these challenges, I remain determined. As it is clear, “We Move”. I am proud to be part of Silicon Mountain, a community of entrepreneurs who are striving to overcome these obstacles and make a difference in our country. I may face many challenges as an entrepreneur in Anglophone Cameroon, but I am resilient and determined to succeed.
In the midst of these challenges, I continue to push forward and find innovative solutions to the problems that I face. I am part of a vibrant community of entrepreneurs who are working together to build a better future for our country. With determination and hard work, we will overcome these obstacles and achieve success.
